Sleepers and bricks can be used to create retaining walls that are both functional and unique to the space.

Sleeper retaining walls are traditionally built using treated timber sleepers with an expected life in excess of 20 years. Today there are many other types of sleepers available as well. For example, concrete sleepers with a variety of moulded patterns or recycled plastic sleepers have an unlimited life expectancy and may be more ideally suited to your needs.

Brick retaining walls have their own appeal, of course. Brick walls are put together using mortar and are commonly finished with plain or textured cement render.
